Parsa Wildlife Reserve

Bardia National ParkThe Parsa Wildlife Reserve spreads over parts of Chitwan,Makawanpur, parsa and Bara districts. The vegetation is tropical and sub tropical mostly covered with Sal forests, while the hills are covered with chir pine. Khair, sisoo and silk cotton are found along water areas. The reserve provides good habitat for animals like wild elephant, tiger, leopard, sloth bear, gaur, blue bull and wild dog. Other common animals in the reserve are sambar, chital, hog deer, barking deer, langur monkey, rhesus macaques, striped hyena, rat civet and jungle cat. There are 527 species of bird’s found in the reserve, one being endangered great hornbill found in certain parts of the forest. Other bird species include peafowl, red jungle fowl, flycatchers and woodpeckers. Birds and animals apart the reserve also habitats snakes like king cobra, common cobra, krait, rat snake and python.

 

Activities in Parsa Wildlife Reserve

1) Jeep Drive:

You can have the unique experience of driving jeep in to the jungle. We will take you across the river in to the jungle in four wheels drive vehicles. The slow growl of open jeeps, the sights and sounds of real animals in the wild can be an unforgettable experience with your holidays.

5) Elephant Safari:

An excellent opportunity to see Asian Elephant, Great One Horned Rhinoceros, Spotted Deer or Chital, Hog Deer, Barking Deer, Samber, Swamp Deer or Barasinghe, Nilgai or Blue Bull, Black Buck, Wild Boar, Royal Bengal Tiger, Leopard, Wild Dog, Golden Jackal, Striped Hyena. You will also encounter many other smaller mammals that have made Bardia National Park their home.

2) Jungle/Nature Walk:

you can enjoy a natural walk in the jungle in safety accompanied by our well trained naturalist. A highlight of this trip will be the viewing from the watch towers (Machhan) to have the wild sightseeing, accompanied by our experienced naturalist and wildlife trackers. Excellent photographic opportunities are plentiful.
